How do I know if I am dyslexic?

Am I dyslexic?’ or perhaps a colleague or loved one has suggested you might be dyslexic, a diagnostic assessment will answer this question.

Learning differences are often not identified early enough in life and can result in you being misunderstood. An assessment will help you to understand why some things have been difficult throughout life and will find new ways of working and studying.

Why am I having problems keeping up?

It is common for a change in your life, such as a new course of study or a new job to highlight previous problems. This can mean the methods you have developed to overcome any difficulties are not working as well for you or that additional demands are now more challenging. A diagnosis, through an assessment often results in relief and a long sought-after explanation for difficulties in learning and in everyday life such as organisation, time management and prioritizing and a new way forward can be found.

Have An Assessment

An assessment creates an individual profile that will discover your unique strengths, and highlight any areas that cause difficulties in everyday life, learning or work. Recommendations can then be made to find ways to overcome any problems and make better use of your abilities.  This in turn helps you realise your full potential.

Disabled Students' Allowance

A full diagnostic report from a registered practitioner is required by your funding body to access Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) when starting a course at university. The assessment must be completed post-sixteen years. The assessment will decide if you have dyslexia or dyspraxia or if you have previously had an assessment, the report will provide up to date information of your learning needs.

Workplace Assessment

An assessment can also help with any difficulties in the workplace. Access to Work is a government scheme which supports employees and employers to ensure equality in the workplace. An assessment will provide recommendations to support any difficulties at work and make recommendations for any adjustments. We work with colleges, universities and employers as well as privately providing diagnostic assessments.
